Economic Relations

Trade is an important element in the economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan. Although there is potential for many non-traditional goods, raw jute, tea, jute goods, chemical products, tobacco, woven and garments are currently the major items that occupy the lion’s share of Bangladesh export to Pakistan. On the other hand, Pakistan is a major source of supply of cotton fabrics, yarn, raw cotton, wheat, rice and other textile items, engineering goods, chemicals etc.  for Bangladesh. Bangladesh buys much more from Pakistan than she sells to Pakistan. Bangladesh is currently the 9th largest export destination of Pakistan in the world.
