Economic Relations

Trade is an important element in the economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Raw jute, tea, jute goods, chemical products, woven garments and betel leaves are the major items that occupy the lion’s share of Bangladesh export to Pakistan. On the other hand, Pakistan is a major source of supply of cotton fabrics, yarn, raw cotton, wheat, rice and other textile items, engineering and goods, chemical goods, etc.  to Bangladesh. Bangladesh buys more from Pakistan than sells to Pakistan. Bangladesh is currently the 8th largest export destination of Pakistan in the world.
